Where is Vylo available?
Vylo is starting in the Sacramento area — Rocklin, Roseville, Sacramento and Lincoln, California. A device within about five miles of one of those cities is placed in it automatically. You can open Vylo from anywhere, but the feed is only busy where neighbours are already posting, so it is worth checking back as more cities open.
Do I need an account to use Vylo?
No sign-up is required. Vylo signs you in anonymously in the background so your posts and follows stay attached to you, and you only add an email address if you choose to verify your account.
How does Vylo use my location?
Only while you are using the app, and only at neighbourhood accuracy rather than an exact GPS fix. It decides which area your feed is scoped to. You can also pick an area by hand instead, and you can mark your location as approximate — posts in sensitive categories such as safety and lost-and-found default to approximate to protect people and pets.
How does Vylo decide what to trust?
People near a post confirm or dispute it. An update that nearby people confirm gains a trust badge and rises; one that is disputed does not. There is no engagement-based ranking — your radius decides what you see, and verification decides what rises.

Yes. Vylo is free to download and use, and is supported by ads shown in the feed.
